I purchased a Ford 1600 with 427 hours on it. Almost site unseen. It was in a dark garage, but looked in good real good shape. It came with a factory fron dozer blade with full hydraulics. I was just doing this person a favor, because she wanted to get rid of it. Is it 4WD? Do they come that way? It is diesel, is that good or bad. It came with a Woods 5ft finish 3pt finish mower also. She needed to get $3000.00 out of it. Now...What's it worth $1,000. I hope I can at least say I didn't get the total shaft. I pick it up tomarrow, should I be sad or happy to get this tractor?? Any information would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance.Dave

Most likely that blade will add approx. $1000 to the value of the tractor.>I was just doing this person a favor, >because she wanted to get rid of it. Is it 4WD?You tell us. You looked at it, not me. It's easy to tell if it is 4WD just by looking at the front axle.>Do they come that way? I'm not sure, but more than likely that model could have been equipped with 4WD.>It is diesel, is that good or bad.Good. Most tractors are diesel.> It came with a Woods 5ft finish 3pt finish mower also. That implement is probably worth about $600-$800 on the used market.> She needed to get $3000.00 out of it. Now...What's it worth $1,000. I hope I >can at least say I didn't get the total shaft. I pick it up tomarrow, should I >be sad or happy to get this tractor?? Rest assured that if it does run, and you put it in the sale papers for $3000, you can get your money back out of it. I am very certain of that. The big question is does it run?? If so, then you should be thrilled. If it sitting there because it has a cracked block or something, then you may not be so lucky..... Let us know how it turns out!!Keith ....

Thanks for your comments Keith. I pick it up in 2 hours. I think it will start now, I figured out how to do it.Apparently you need to turn the key the other way to activate the glow plugs &then try and start it. I just turned the key, it rolled over, but wouldn't startWe'll see later today, I'll keep you posted. ....

Dear Dave,What were you thinking? If you are going to loan this lady $3000 just do it and forget the tractor. Are you sweet on this lady Dave? It sounds like whether you get your money back or not doesn't seem that important, and certainly your pre-purchase inspection was just a little "carefree" shall we say. I am just teasing you Dave, no hard feelings. I sincerely hope it all works out between you, your lady friend, and the tractor. ....

The tractor runs great!! Started right up. However I have no 3pt. Help!!The owner said she would stand behind it, but I don't want her to get a $200-$1,000 bill when its something real simple that I overlooked or didn't know woubtNothing happens when I pull the lever back. It doesn't even try to pick up. Like I am missing tuning something on and as soon as I do it will work perfect. Any help/advice would be appreciated.ThanksDave Straka ....

sounds like a really good deal for you if it runs and has FWA. the question about ththe 3 pt not working if it has sat for a while it might have air in the system and needs to be run to get it out or there is a switch down on the flow control valve that could not be in the right position ....
